The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) is happy to announce the official scheduling of the 2024 IMMAF European Championships, set to be held in Serbia, from March 29th to April 6th.
Hosted by the Serbian MMA Federation, IMMAF will return to the capital city of Belgrade. The event will feature Senior, Junior and Youth age brackets and will be conducted per the latest IMMAF Amateur rules.
Youth competition will open proceedings across the first three days, with Team Registration taking place on the 29th, Youth C & B on the 30th, and Youth A on the 31st.
Junior and Senior Team Registration will then take place on the 1st of April, with competition then running for the next five days, culminating on the 5th of April for the Junior Finals and 6th of April with the Senior Finals.
The 2022 IMMAF World Championships saw Serbia host its first-ever IMMAF competition, drawing 520 athletes from 62 countries, featuring prominent names such as Ramazan Gitinov (BRN), Faine Mesquita (AUS), Aieza Bertolso (BRN), and Nina Nikolija Milosevic (SWE/SRB). The tournament was a major success, serving as a landmark event to celebrate the IMMAF 10th Year Anniversary.
The 2024 IMMAF European Championships comes in the wake of the 2023 IMMAF World Championships in Tirana, Albania, which saw multiple European athletes crowned as World Champions. In particular, Patrick Habirora (BEL), Zé Machado (POR), and Lisa Zimmo (ENG) stood out, underscoring just how deep the European amateur MMA talent pool is.
Multiple athletes who competed in the 2023 World Championships have indicated their intentions to return to IMMAF competition for the 2024 European Championships, including the likes of Jr. Atomweight Champion Amy Scully (IRE) and Sr. Flyweight silver medallist Lauren Reay (ENG).
In Belgrade, the next generation of European talent look to announce themselves to the world, as they seek Continental glory on the road to the 2024 IMMAF World Championships.
